Asbestos Surveys
We have had a small number of Owners asking us not to do an Asbestos Survey
I have to let you all know it is law that we have a Survey carried out on your Property with some prosecutions already going through the Tenancy Tribunal
Below is the advise one of our Owners received direct from Worksafe

The WorkSafe NZ published Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) for management and removal of asbestos refers to the year 2000 as the date when buildings should be suspected as containing asbestos containing material. Legislation covering asbestos includes:
- The imports and exports of asbestos containing products was prohibited in 2016

- The prohibition on carrying out, directing, or allowing work involving asbestos or asbestos containing material was prohibited in 2016 (regulation 7)

WorkSafe would not expect an asbestos survey to be carried out on a building constructed post 2018 unless there was reason to suspect that asbestos was present.
